X-Ray wharf improvements, berth 1
The project involved dredging of the approach channel, and turning basin and North berth to a depth of -10.67 m (-35 ft). Also included construction of the North berth and dolphin to accommodate the T-AKE vessel. The North berth consisted of a new cathodically protected sheet pile bulkhead and wharf platform along with a cement/soil mix gravity wall installed in front of the existing X-Ray wharf. Construction of potable water, sewer, power, storm drain and fire protection services at the North berth. Also included associated mounds, pipes, and cables. Construction of ducts and a utility trench to accommodate future communications and BOWT systems (no cables/pipes). In addition, we created perimeter security fencing and fence lighting, wharf deck lighting, a new substation and emergency generator building. Relocated existing buoys to accommodate new wharf.
