This project included building renovations, site preparation, utility work, and the construction of support facilities to support the Department of Defense’s ultra-high frequency satellite communications system that will provide the modern worldwide mobile communications service to the warfighter. Building renovations included the renovation of approximately 378 m2 of an existing telecommunications facility building. Site preparation work included the installation of three (3) 18.4 meter diameter antenna foundation structures, two (2) UHF antenna foundations, one (1) equipment building foundation, roadways, walkways, fencing, area lighting, CCTV cameras, installation of underground utility (water, electric, telecommunications, etc.) lines, and the relocation of existing underground antenna cables. The project also involved the installation of a new primary electrical circuit to support the new project, the installation of redundant 1,000 KW standby generators in an existing building, and the installation of new outdoor substation transformers. This project included a Functional Validation and was a DBB MILCON.

MK Engineers prepared designs for medium voltage apparatus, standby generators, exterior and interior lighting, telecommunication systems exterior and interior pathways, grounding systems, telecommunications systems cabling, access control systems infrastructure, and CCTV system infrastructure.
