The project involved the design of two new 60” force mains from the Ala Moana WWPS to the Sand Island WWTP. The new force mains are to be installed using micro tunneling technology under the entrance to Honolulu Harbor, Sand Island Park, and the existing Fort Armstrong waterfront facilities. The electrical work included the design of components in support of the two new 60” force mains. This includes a new or modified motor control centers, new SCADA, motor operated valves, and the work to support HECO in the upgrade of the 11.5 kV service to 25 kV. It also included various onsite modifications and relocations to support the new force main routing. This included the relocation of existing electrical ductlines, feeders, and controls. It also included the new ductlines in public right of ways, including street lighting and utility ductlines.
